The word unique is overused when describing Scottish single malt whisky but in the case of Bruichladdich 2003 Organic it is accurate. Bruichladdich distillery decided they wished to create a whisky that wasn't subject to intensive farming methods, chemical fertilizers or pesticides. So for this scotch they sourced certified organic barley and distilled the first organic Islay whisky. This is still a young whiskey and is on limited release only but they should be applauded for creating it and it is a welcome addition to the Bruichladdich range.
