This smooth and mixable rum is composed of five different rums from distilleries located on the islands of Jamaica, Trinidad, Barbados, Guyana, and Java (the largest Indonesian island). Each rum is aged between 3 and 12 years, filtered, and then expertly blended together with just a touch of Batavia Arrack. The result is a surprisingly rich, full-bodied spirit with bold vegetal and herbal notes on both the nose and palate. Complex flavors of ginger and black pepper appear on the dry, lingering finish. The rum was named after the noted explorer Sir Joseph Banks.
